I’m so sorry for your loss, I always loved Elaine and will always miss her. I wish I would’ve seen her more often, it was always my intent. Still thinking about you guys. I know the pain you’re going through and although It gets more bearable unfortunately there will still be a void that only your mom can fill. Miss and love you all.

Elaine was my "partner in crime" for 13 years in the Youth Department at Comstock Township Library. We teamed up to present summer reading club skits at the elementary schools in Comstock, presented puppet shows to school groups during National Library Week, presented numerous preschool story hour programs, as well as special holiday programs for families. Elaine processed all books in the library at that time in addition to working at the circulation desk. She was always helpful, dependable, and was the master of add lib, which saved the day, in more than a few of our efforts at providing fun at the library for children and families. She had a sparkling personality and I will miss her as will all who knew her.

As a kid ,i would tag along to the library with my dad. I would alway visit Mrs. Gillis. I lived next door to her for a few years and she would come to the fence and visit my beagles.

Elaine was the heart of the children's library of the Comstock Township Library! I took my daughter to the library starting when she was toddler and Elaine was such a lively, funny, happy person there! She loved kids and she loved books. I worked as in aide for in Comstock Schools and her visits every Spring to the schools to promote summer reading were always fun for the kids. Rest in peace Elaine.

Oh how I loved Elaine! My condolences to your family for the loss of one amazing woman. She made the library come to life for me when I was a really little kiddo, all the way through the teenage years.

My granddaughter enjoyed Elaine's storyhour immensely. Just yesterday she was playing with a little pink ducky Elaine had given her. She calls it the "library duck." Elaine's memory lives in with many.

Our family met Elaine about 25 years ago when she held story hours that I took all 3 of my granddaughters, Ashley, Megan & Heather to over the years. She even taught Ashley how to skip. She supported me when my oldest daughter was dealing with breast cancer too. Prayers, hugs and love to her family. She will be missed by many. ?

Elaine was a pleasant, fun soul who treated our daughter like her own granddaughter as she (Sophie) and Caylea we're growing up. She was at every function for them, cheering them on and mentoring while volunteering at the library. We'll always remember her smile and laugh. RIP Elaine, you will be missed and hugs to Cathy, Chris and Caylea. The Kokales family.

Thank God our paths crossed! She's a blessing; a sweet mother hen to Caleb, Noah and Ben; a woman of class, spunk and moral. She has forever left an imprint in our lives. Thoughts and prayers are with her family and pup.

My girls grew up at the library with Ms. Elaine, and lived for the summer reading program each year. My oldest daughter has spent the past 2 summers being her toddler story time assistant and was eager to get back at it this year with her. She had a unique relationship with each child that runs down that ramp to see her!. This is just heartbreaking news for the Comstock Community. Prayers to her family & friends, especially all the young lives and imaginations she helped encourage!

Elaine was a friend and colleague of mine in Comstock Library. She was always a cheerful, happy soul, a hard worker and loved children and books. She was always full of fun ideas for story time. Children loved her. At my retirement dinner, she presented me with an original poem, which I treasure, and I will always remember her kindness and happy spirit. Shirley Kasson, Former Director

It's difficult to find the words to describe the positive impact that Elaine had during my adolescence and time spent at the library. Her energy radiated throughout the room and she made a point to engage in a positive way with everyone. She helped foster a sense of community and a true love for literacy. I believe the positive impact she made on peoples' lives is immeasurable. I will never forget my favorite librarian <3 Sending condolences to the family.
