Age 66, passed away on September 4, 2017. He was born on May 29, 1951, the son of George and Nola (Underwood) Shaffer. Eric had a great personality and was the life of the party. He was happiest at a BBQ, surrounded by family and friends, telling a joke or classic story. He was a hard worker who sacrificed to provide for his family and his heart and home were always open to those he loved. When not working he took time to enjoy the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Above all Eric loved his family, enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and leaves them all with many wonderful memories to cherish. On May 26, 1978, he married Patricia Ann Shaffer who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Veronica Shaffer and Katrina (Kevin) McCarthy; six grandchildren; his sisters, Kim Dunigan, Noreen Palm, Sheila Shaffer-Howell, Cheryl Shaffer-Sanders and brother Kevin Shaffer; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eric was preceded in passing by his father and a brother, Byron.
