A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Kalamazoo Missionary Church, 5045 East Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49048. Pastor Ken Smeader will officiate. Private interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park – South. A time of visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

Age 74, passed away at home on Friday, October 13, 2017 with his family by his side. Henry was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on August 8, 1943, the son of the late Henry E., Sr. and Margaret (Rafter) Whitmore. Henry was a retiree of Kalamazoo Public Schools, where he was employed as a custodian for 30 years. On October 10, 1969, he was united in marriage to Loretta F., who survives. Henry is also survived by three children, Lisa Calvert, Rebecca Miner and William (Wendy) Whitmore; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters, Joanne (Jack) Babbitt and Marguerite (Robert) Saunders; sisters-in-law, Linda and Lynda Whitmore and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeffrey Calvert, Jr. and brothers, William, Glenn and Jack Whitmore.
