Age 45, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Michael was born in Kalamazoo on August 16 1972, the son of Lyle S. and Kathleen (McKenzie) Richardson. He was a graduate of Parchment High School. Michael most recently was employed in facilities maintenance for Portage Public Schools and had previously worked for the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 7. Michael as owned and operated Kalamazoo Soap Co. with his wife, Tracy. He enjoyed playing pool, was extremely creative and had a natural ability for building things. Michael also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially going on walks at the Nature Center, and “getting lost” with his daughter. He is survived by his wife, Tracy; daughter Alisha; mother, Kathleen Cliffman; sister, Michelle (Jeff) Benton; nephews; Jeffrey and Kyle Benton; nieces, Amanda Renzema, Laura Hoffman and Samantha and Jamie Rogers; and mother in-law, Frances J. Hulsey aka “Nana”. He was preceded in death by his father and brother in-law, Neil Rogers.
