Peggy Maverine Root “Peg” 86 years old, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 23, 2017 under the loving care of the staff and family members at Kairos Dwelling House. Peggy was born on April 7, 1931 in Hartsell, Alabama to her parents Walton Ledlow and Lavera Pauline “Cricket” Brown Ledlow. On August 17, 1957 Peggy married the love of her life Donald E. Root Jr. on August 17, 2017 they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Together Peggy and Don shared the love of their children Ken Callahan, his wife Janet, Peggy Darlene Slater, her husband William, Tim Callahan, his wife Cindy, Crystal Johnson, her husband Daniel, Tony Root, his wife Bonnie, Julie Riebe and her husband Rick. They also had 13 grand children Michael Callahan, Brian Callahan, Tiffany Todd, Jason Todd, Derek Wadlington, Ryan Wadlington, Corey Wadlington, Joshua Callahan, Chrissy Callahan, Amy Shon, Amanda Shon Booker, Kaylie Root, Jacob Root, and little angel Cassidy Maeve Riebe, who will be waiting for her grandma in Heaven to welcome her home as well as her Peggy’s parents Walton and Pauline Ledlow, her sister Sue Middleton and her twin sister Madeline Ledlow who passed as an infant. There are also numerous great grandchildren that Peggy loved so much. Peggy’s career was a housekeeper to many top executives in the Kalamazoo and Portage area. Peggy loved what she did for a living and so did those that she worked for and they would refer her to others that they knew. As per Peggy’s wishes there will be no service as she wanted to be remembered as she used to be. Peggy will be missed by many especially her Family!
