Age 75, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019. Arvida was born on January 4, 1944, in Clendenin, WV, the daughter of Ivan and Helen (James) Erlandson. Arvida graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University in 1966, and from the University of Chicago in 1970, with a Masters Degree in Social Service Administration. She was employed by the Michigan Department of Social Services from 1966 to 1974. On March 26, 1971, she married the love of her life Milton LaVerne Price who preceded her in death in 1991. After being fortunate enough to be a stay at home mother to their daughter, Tiffany, for her pre-school years, Arvida returned to work in 1979 at the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital as a social worker in female admissions. She celebrated her retirement in 1997. In retirement, enjoyed traveling the world, learning to ballroom dance, and volunteering to teach at-risk children to read. She was thankful for her many friends, modern medicine, her family, many acquaintances who enriched her life and the opportunity to live and love. She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany (Kenneth) Hudok of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Zoe and Benjamin Hudok; brothers, James Bruce (Shirley) Erlandson and Ivan Erlandson Jr.; nieces, Carrie (Roger Schmidt) Erlandson and Candice (Chris) Phelps, and countless friends.
