Age 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 24, 2022, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of the late Mayland and Evelyn (Newlin) Jones. Barb had a faithful spirit, kind heart and loving nature. On January 31, 1957, she married the love of her life, Louis “Louie” Geresy Jr. They remained at each other’s side for nearly 66 years! She worked hard to provide a happy home where all were made to feel welcome. Barb was a faithful and active member of Valley View Bible Church. She was a former member of Covey Hill Baptist Church where she was an involved Sunday school teacher and played piano. Barb loved her pet birds and at one time cared for more than 150 of them. She was a hard worker on the farm where they grew asparagus and grapes. Above all Barb loved her Lord and her family and she leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. She will be missed by all who loved her. Surviving is her husband, Louie; three children, Jim (Lisa) Geresy, Evonne (Steve) Heystek, Steve Geresy, all of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren, Christian Geresy, Sarah (Dave) Taplin, Julie (Chris) Fennell, Vicki (Chad) Thornburgh, Casey Grooten, Steve and Emma Geresy; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret Babcock; special cousin, Carrie (Fred) Graham; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a son-in-law, Rick Grooten and her in-laws, Louie (Viola) Geresy Sr. The family would like to express a special thank you to Barb’s hospice nurses, Emily and Holly.
