Age 68, passed away at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek on November 10, 2021. She was born in Lebanon, KY, on May 22, 1953, the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Burns) Bottom. Blanche had a beautiful and uplifting spirit. Her warm smile, kindness and generosity brought joy to all those around her and she leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. Blanche was a hard worker who earned her nursing degree while working for the V.A. of Battle Creek. She would go on to work for many years as a Psychiatric Nurse at Fieldstone of Battle Creek. It was here that her compassion and empathy for others shined through, and she helped make a difference in many lives. Her natural ability to care for others never ceased. When spending time at dialysis she would hand out candy to everyone and became known as the “Candy Lady.” She looked forward with eager anticipation to Halloween and Christmas, her home was always decorated to the “nines,” and everyone was made to feel welcome. She also looked forward to her time in Ocala, FL where she and her husband Jack spent the winter months and made many friends. Blanche loved to spend time with her family, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Blanche’s life touched many people, and she will be missed by all who loved her. On May 27, 1983, she married Jack Winters who survives. She is also survived by three loving children, Kristi Wilcox, Bill (Aurora) Winters, Heather (Jay) Ottinger; nine grandchildren, Ashlee Kepitis, Alyssa Culp, Jacob Hack, Cayley (Alex Murray) Winters, Cole (Sydney Robey) Winters, Brendan Berryman, Zac Ottinger, Austin (Anna) Ottinger, Jayson (Bailey) Ottinger; eight great-grandchildren with one on the way; five siblings, Bonnie Kilgore, Barb Wofford, Keith Bottom, Tami Collige, Tonya Fields; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in passing by her siblings, William Bottom, Kathy Cochran, Joyce Bottom and Kay Uselton.
