Doris and I have been friends for over 40 yrs that’s how I got to know Dave. When I visited their home, he would always say hi. I am so glad he doesn’t have to suffer anymore. Doris was always there for him no matter what. He had so many wonderful moments with his kids and grandchildren! Rest in peace Dave!😥😇🙏

Dear Dieterman family, David was a hero in the eyes of his Post Office coworker, Allen Morris. Allen is my brother with special needs who was given a temporary custodial position at the Miller Road building in 1984. Since he couldn’t drive, he had to learn the complicated and time-consuming bus route transfers from Portage to downtown Kalamazoo. It wasn’t long before Allen was given a full-time position there and David began taking him to work and dropping him off every day for years. He quietly and faithfully supported Allen’s first years at the Post Office and we are so grateful. Allen had a long and successful postal career and David gets a lot of the credit. He was definitely a “point of light” in his community and I’m sure this example is only one of many. We are sorry for your loss and hope these words give you comfort.

Dear Sarah and Families, With great sorrow we wish to convey our condolences. We got to know of your Dad's warmth and graciousness while having only a short time with him, way back in MSU apartment-house furniture move-in days. We hope and trust your family will heal in due time, as he would most truly desire. Truly, lovingly yours, Phil & Nelda

Worked with Dave over 3o years at Postal Service. He always had a joke or humorous comment to make under any circumstance. He was a good man and who cared about people. God's blessings on his family as he moves on to his eternal reward. Paul Beiter
