Age 62, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at home with his family by his side. Jim was born in Kalamazoo on August 20, 1954, the son of Jack and Josephyne (Leipzig) Nuyen. On November 4, 1987 he was united in marriage to the former Deborah A. Faulkner. She preceded him in death on August 22, 2015. Jim was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Nuyen, Jr. He was the owner of Creative Hair Design for over 35 years. Jim is survived by his loving children, Krista and Kelsea Nuyen; Thomas Cook, David (Angie) Cook, Michael (Stacy) Cook, eight grandchildren, Alexis, David, Kayla, William, Anthony, Jada, Mikey, Kiarah; his parents; brother, Kim (Valerie) Nuyen; sister, Deborah (Dennis) Rainey; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Jim loved being outdoors, near and around nature and water. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and especially enjoyed mushroom hunting. Jim also enjoyed traveling and taking vacations with his wife, Deborah.
