In keeping with her wishes, there will not be a public funeral service. Family will honor Kathy’s life privately and cherish the memories she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – Michigan Great Lakes Chapter, in honor of Kathy’s life and legacy.

Kathleen Marie Blalock peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the age of 83.
Kathy was born July 4, 1941 to parents Richard (Dick) Powers and Katherine (Kate) Powers of Delton, Michigan. Kathy lived a full life marked by quiet strength, independence, and grace. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, in-law, and friend.
Kathy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her for her warmth, kindness, wisdom, infectious laugh, the calm presence she brought to every room, and the deep love she had for her family. Kathy is survived by her three children, Richard (Laurie) Blalock, Bret (Teri) Blalock, and Kristi (Rick) Mathes, sister’s Patricia Jansen and Carolyn Mitchell, brother’s-in-law Ric Blalock and Jack (Penny) Blalock, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Sadly, grandson, Nicholas Blalock, preceded Kathy in death in 2021.
