Age 64, passed away on Wednesday morning, October 16, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family. Londa was born in Detroit, MI, on June 1, 1955, the daughter of George E. and Beatrice Geraldine (Glosson) Underwood. Londa’s dad was active military and she grew up all over the United States and in Germany, before returning to Galesburg, where Londa completed high school in 1974. On March 17, 1979, she married James “Jimmy” Jackson, who survives her. They had met at Hydreco, where they both worked at the time. Later, Londa worked for many years as a line supervisor for Thermal Fisher Scientific, where she was a hard worker and had a “get it done” attitude. Jimmy and Londa continued to live in the Underwood family home in Galesburg. Family was everything to her. She loved going to concerts with her daughter, getting her hair and nails done with her sister, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, and spending time at Jones Lake with the whole family. She loved taking road trips, especially to Tennessee and Idaho to see family. She was a savvy shopper and looked forward to Black Friday shopping. Londa bred rottweilers for 8 years in the 80’s and 90’s. Her extended family included her rottweilers, and she had a special bond with her dog, Sheba, with whom she would walk with to Pizza King and share ice cream. She loved yard work and gardening, and was equally good at building things. She was a talented seamstress and could make anything from jackets to quilts. She loved hummingbirds and wolves, and collected a variety of things, including glass figurines, oil lamps and Furby’s. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Besides her husband, Londa is survived by her children, Joshua (Leslie) Jackson of Boise, ID and Linsey Jackson of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Audrey Escobar, Mallory Sans, Nakhia Thompson, Otto Jackson, George Jackson and Emmett Jackson; siblings, Ralph (Diane) Underwood, Sally Miner, George Underwood, Margaret (Ronnie) Forrest; brother-in-law, Jim Crowell; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Georgia Crowell; and a niece, Beatrice Irene Crowell.
