Very sorry to hear of louie's passing and very sorry I didn't learn of it sooner. It has been probably 2 or 3 years since I had last went down KL and now today I saw the for sale sign out front and figured "old louie" has passed away. I feel so many so called religious people could learn so much from louie. When I was about 10 or 11 years old he came over and told me he was sorry, he thought I rode my minibike on his property so he was angry with me, but he learned it wasn't me after all. so he came over and spoke to my father and I and said he was sorry, i didn't understand it then, but years later, I think of it as making amends. He thought wrong of me and he was saying he was sorry. Some years back my mother needed a wheelchair , it was an emergency, my dad said run down to louie's , see if he's got a wheelchair we can borrow. So I run down there , Louie was "we have this old one , bring it back when you're done", so a couple days later I got my mom a new one, my dad handed me a blank signed check, "take Louie his wheelchair back and write him a check for what ever he wants for church donation, he really saved us". Louie wouldn't take it. I want to donate "oh no, you're just donating because I let you borrow my wheelchair". It's called integrity , I guess and it is severely lacking. I just was watching some religion show a couple days ago and they said I'd burn if I was watching and wouldn't send $1000 immediately. That's what's wrong and that's what gives organized religion a bad name, but nothing doing with Louie. I think integrity is the name for it. I also remember a few years back , I was at Virgil the barber and here comes louie crossing red arrow running, and I asked him "what's your hurry? there weren't cars coming" he replied "that pavement is hot!". I looked down and he didn't have shoes on, "i don't like wearing shoes". I saw him a few months later during winter in a small tractor so stopped to say hi, middle of winter, and no shoes. I feel if more folks in society lived according to the principles that he lived by, the world would be such a better place. and for Evonne (sp?) I just made a pot of rice yesterday, made spanish rice a few days ago, so yes, I still enjoy rice. I know you put forth alot of effort helping your parents, and as hard as it may be for some people to believe, I worked hard for my parents, especially as they got to the point where they needed it it. Your parents and husband are pretty lucky people to have you around. Condolences to all family and friends goes out from myself and our entire family. Louie was a class act and that is a severe understatement. So many could take life lessons from him. Jamie Simpson
