A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home with Fr. Ron Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park – South. Visitation will take place at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Ministry with Community, c/o the funeral home.

Age 101, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Madeline was born in Normal, Illinois on April 9, 1918, the daughter of the late Fred and Esther (Stevens) Hines. She was a graduate of Western Michigan University and retired from Kalamazoo Public Schools. Madeline was a longtime member of 1st Baptist Church of Kalamazoo and a lifetime member of the Ladies Library Association. Madeline enjoyed the outdoors, playing Bridge, dancing and traveling. She also enjoyed teaching senior swimming classes and preschool exercise classes at the YMCA. In 1939, she married Harlan N. Stanger, who proceeded her in death in 1968. She re-married again in 1971, to Donald A. Williams, he preceded her in death in 1987. Madeline was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Perry; brother, Larry Hines and sister, Gwen Gunn. She is survived by her children, Maribeth (Gene) Coonfare and Brett (Carol) Stanger; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
