Born in Dodge City, Kansas, Robert Joseph Miller passed away peacefully, at home on Friday, September 4, 2020. As a young man, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, something he was very proud of. Robert served in the United States Navy, retiring after twenty honorable years of service. He was a proud Veteran and served in two wars, Korea and Vietnam. Robert married the former Norma Grubb on June 6, 1954, most recently celebrating 66 years of marriage. Following his retirement from the U.S. Navy, he served as Unit Manager for Borgess Hospital for eleven years and touched the lives of many he served. Robert also owned and operated Priority Printing in Portage for many years, until he finally retired to enjoy his favorite hobbies which included fishing, boating, and camping at Cousin’s Campground in South Haven. Simultaneously, he also owned and operated several apartment complexes in the area. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Norma, children, Toni D. (Steve) Schiedel and Robin G. (David) Bowman, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Brian, Justin and Stacy Schiedel and Autumn Anderson and Scott Bleeker and many great grandchildren. His sage advice to the world on his 90th birthday was “Pay attention to everything, but don’t do everything you pay attention to.”
