A memorial service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate in her memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, Leader Dogs for the Blind, March of Dimes or give directly to your local animal shelter.

There are simply no words to express my deep profound sorrow upon first hearing how ill Sandy was and then only a day later, that she had passed. I met Sandy - or as I referred to her SF - at Western in the dorm about 52 years ago. She was new to Kzoo and we quickly became the best of friends, living in a number of apartments and houses the next four years. Boy, did we have fun! Early on, she always threatened to return to the D and the PO; she never did the former and used the PO as a source of unending riotous stories. We shared all sorts of life and family events: marriage, birth, death, celebrations here and there. While life’s path didn’t have us crossing physically as often as we’d like, whether in person or on the phone, we simply picked up where we left off. It is truly a blessing to have such a dear friend. Sandy’s passing seems senseless and clearly none of know when our time is up. What I know for sure is hers was far to short. Her sense of humor, determination, willingness to help with open arms and endless love lives on in her dear daughter, Holly. I can only hope that life force gives Bob some sense of hopefulness, in particular during these saddest of days. Fir me, it’s holding on to her humor, her determination, her love that makes these days bearable. Memory eternal dear friend. Laham

Me, Jimmy, Prada and MegaTron miss you more than life! Pups run outside to the fence everyday looking for you! I miss our talks and all of your advice! I love you so much for taking care of Jimmy the years I wasn’t here. You have left such an impact on our lives and it will never be replaced… you and Bob were part of our family. We love you forever, and will miss you always!

I got to know Sandy when I first started working at the Post office in the 80's. We both worked the night shift and would all too often take an early out and go have breakfast. We had a lot of laughs together and Jim remembers Sandy trying to control her laughter at work about something but for some reason she just couldn't control it. One of the nicest people I have ever known. RIP Sandy

So sad to hear the news of Sandy's passing, she was a huge part of my childhood with our Daisy and Brownie girl scout troops and always just the sweetest woman you could ever meet. My heart and prayers are with her family now and always....RIP sweet lady❤
