BUCK, Wilda “Jean”

Age 78, passed away at home on Saturday, February 12, 2022, with her family by her side. Jean was born in Lawrence, Michigan on March 16, 1943, the daughter of Theodore and Maxine (Ladyman) Stratton. She was a graduate of Mattawan High School, class of 1961. Jean loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She also held a very close relationship with her sister, Pat and considered her a best friend. Jean loved her dogs and spent time volunteering for her church. On June 19, 1961, she married Robert A. Buck, Sr. and cherished their 60 years together. Jean is also survived by her children, Kim (Dale) Chapman and Robert A. Buck, Jr.; grandchildren, Nick (Remie) Mills, Alex (Amy) Mills Katie (Ty) Bundy, Rachel Buck and Hannah Dawes; great-grandchildren, Adrienne, Ben and Link Mills, Lexi Chapman and Addy Bundy; sister, Patricia (Mike) Guilfoyle; brothers, Ted (Gerry) and Jim (Terry) Stratton and Mitch and Vin (Gayle) Penar; mother, Maxine Penar and several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Stratton; step-mother, Betty Stratton and step-father, Stanley Penar. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Mattawan.
