A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will take place at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 3:00 PM. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Great Lakes Burn Camp.

Age 82, passed away at home on Sunday, March 27, 2022 with his family by his side. Bill was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on November 10, 1939, the son of the late Vern and Blanche (Barnhart) Oliver. On November 24, 1972, he married the love of his life, Sue Ann Dunfield, who preceded him in death on July 9, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his son, William C. Oliver, Jr.; brothers, Vern and Jim Oliver; sister, Marilyn Martin and grandson, Emanuel Emmons. He retired from Kalamazoo Public Schools after a 20-year career. Bill was proud to be a volunteer firefighter for the Eastwood Fire Department and retired as a captain after 19 years. He loved everything about cars, was an avid antique street rod collector and won many car show trophies over the years. Bill enjoyed visiting the casino and was an all-around family man who loved spending time with his family as often as possible. He is survived by his children, Susan (Brian) Lancour, David (Melissa) Oliver and Christie (Robert) Mularz; grandchildren, William Curtis, Michelle and Michael Merriam, Stephanie and Christopher Oliver, Joshua Pike and Jonathan and Aniela Mularz; several great-grandchildren; sister, Sally Herbert and canine companion, Ella.
