Obituary
Age 71 of Portage formerly of Gate City, VA, passed away early Thursday morning, September 18, 2025. Debbie was born in Kingsport, TN on January 20, 1954, the daughter of D.B. and Norma Jean (Odham) Long. On April 15, 1979, she married Glen “Tosh” Winegar who preceded her in death in 2016. Debbie made friends everywhere she went. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo with the friends she made since moving to Portage a couple of years ago. She had a beautiful, thick southern accent. She loved spending time with her family and always made time for them. Debbie is survived by her son, Kelly (Melissa) Winegar of Kalamazoo; grandson, Zachary Winegar; sister, Brenda Winegar; nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides her husband, Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; and several siblings.
Debbie friends are like stars******You don’t always see them, but you know they are always there.’ I miss you , I look at the stars and know you are looking down on use♥ you are in my heart and forever it will stay. Debbie was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. Her laugh and her smile will be missed. You will always be Debbie one here . Sending Prayers for your family and friends.
Debbie was a life long friend. We grew up together and well as being related. Just hooked back up with her on Facebook Not long back. She was a sweet girl to be around. She Loved her family. Rest now, Debbie see you later.
