Obituary
Age 87, passed away on Monday evening, August 10, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born in Battle Creek, on June 8, 1933, the son of Ivory John and Mabel Georgina (Culbert) Irwin. On August 16, 1952, he married JoAnn Nulf, who survives him. Don and JoAnn enjoyed travelling together to other parts of the country. He was an outdoorsman and spent time fishing and camping. Their yard also reflected his love of the outdoors. Don worked with wood and made everything from birdhouses to furniture. He also enjoyed baseball and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers. Besides his wife, he is survived by a grand daughter, Christina (Zach) Gallan of Chicago; sister, Elaine Rothwell of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Deborah Kay Irwin; and a son, Richard Gary Irwin.
Love you grandpa. May you rest in peace with dad and Aunt Debbie.
Don will be greatly missed by everyone in the park. It was a joy having you as friends and neighbors. We enjoyed seeing and talking to you at all the park activities. It was also nice watching you (Don) ride your bike beside you (JoAnn) as you walked the park. JoAnn we will pray for strength and peace as you go through this time of sorrow. We know he is in a better place with no more pain and sorrow with a new body. God bless and keep you.
