Obituary
Woodhouse, James (“Woody”) L. passed away November 2nd, 2020. James was born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 22, 1953; son of the late Donald and Phyllis (Howe) Woodhouse. Jim was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, graduating from Loy Norrix High School in 1971. He married LuAnn Ellstrom on September 10, 1977, with whom he had one son, Jared Lee. He spent his career in the sheet metal industry, retiring from Sheet Metal Workers Local 7. He is survived by his son Jared, daughter-in-law Amy, and granddaughter Finley, his former spouses, LuAnn Woodhouse and Denise Lamberson, brother David (Kathleen) Woodhouse and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

I am so sorry for this loss, particular condolences to LuAnn and Jared. Jared, he was so very, very impressed with you, and happy to be a grandfather. LuAnn, your organization and arrangements were something that amazed him, and he told me how grateful he was for all you did. Jim was my favorite cousin, and was in all the best memories I have of my childhood and early years. After college we had very different lives, but it was a most satisfying time when he contacted me on FB and for a year and a half or so, we talked and sometimes texted, and sent things back & forth. I never heard why he dropped out of contact, but seeing the obit, I can guess that it was his final illness that did it. He had both faults and a charmed existence. I miss him, and always will.
