Obituary
Age 58 passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on October 9, 2018. She was born in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was raised by her loving parents, Rose and Cliff Farrington. Sherry had a kind and gentle heart. She was always willing to open her home to others or help those in need. She loved spending time with family and was especially proud of her four grandchildren! Sherry enjoyed writing and other crafts. She leaves behind many wonderful memories for her loved ones to cherish. She is survived by two sons, Sean Dornak and Rick Gibson; four grandchildren, Dominick and Ava Gibson, Caitlin and Chrystal Steele; step-children, James Steele, Mariah Steele; her mother Rose; two sisters, Pam and Stacy; a brother, Bill; sister-in-law, Yvonne Steele; life-long friend Sandy Rich. She was preceded in passing by her husband James Franklin Steele and father Cliff.
After many years of not seeing her.. It was a joy to connect with Sherry by way of Facebook. Our written communication almost always included stories about our families who had formed a bond many years ago. I was a teen when Sherry was five, so I clearly recall, and recently told her how adorable she was as a child. She was incredibly cute, and most definitely had a personality to match. As an adult, I found her to be kind, thoughtful and sweet. She had a lot of love in her heart for family, and for her closest friend, Sandy. Prayers were prayed when she mentioned her need for medical tests. Learning that the outcome was not as we desired was heartbreaking! I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to her mother, Rose, and to all who are mourning her passing. May God heal the grief and heartbreak of her passing, and may the memories of Sherry, bring you comfort.
My great aunt Sherry will be missed by so many. It was great to see her this past summer. I remember getting grandmas Steele’s dancing flowers from her years ago. What a sweet juster for my sister and I to have a memory of some amazing people. Fly high and say hi to my dad.
