A memorial service to celebrate Virginia’s life will take place at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 12:00 PM. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Social distancing guidelines and capacity limits will be followed. Memorial contributions may be given to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
Obituary
Age 81, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021. Virginia was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on April 12, 1939, the daughter of the late Robert E. and Evelyn E. (Gilman) Hafer. Virginia was a loving person with a kind and generous heart. She was always willing to help her family and friends. Virginia enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles and shopping. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she cherished every moment spent with them. Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Ridderbos; great-granddaughter, Desaray Marie; best friend, Dan Gilman; brothers, Jack, Stanley and David and sisters, Millicent and Marilyn. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Loveland (Ron); beloved grandchildren, Becky, Myra, Kelly, Joe, Caitlin and Aubree; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill and John (Barb); sisters, Gloria and Connie (Leon); favorite brother in-law, Richard Teugh; sister in-law, Phyllis Hafer and several nieces and nephews.

She was so kind to us when we were kids. Aunt Virginia and her sister Millicent (my sweet Mom) are in Heaven giggling together right now! Peace to everyone.
Virginia was our neighbor. She was a kind hearted lady and a wonderful friend. We are so saddened to hear of her passing. May you find peace during this sad time.
