Burial Date: October 16, 2020 Visitation for Ralph will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday October 15, 2020, at Temple Baptist Church. A funeral service for Ralph will take place on Friday October 16, 2020 beginning at 11 a.m., also at the church. The church is located at 3706 Mt. Olivet Road, Kalamazoo, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church, c/o the funeral home. |

Age 84, passed away on Sunday morning, October 11, 2020 following a lengthy illness. Ralph was born in Yankee Springs, Michigan on September 28, 1936 to Harry T. and Gladys E. (Standish) Wine. Ralph and Marian took great joy in having a very large family and made sure all of them were loved and loved each other. He enjoyed traveling and was very active and involved with many things including coaching rocket football, and little league baseball. He was an avid K-Wings Hockey fan, but most of all, he had a love of going fast. Ralph loved to watch and race stock cars; although he never won a race. Following the death of his first wife, Ralph married Marian Shelley on December 19, 1987 and they most recently celebrated 32 years of marriage. Ralph never lost the spark in his eye, and Marian said he would want a smooch, even up to the end. Ralph honorably served our country as a soldier in the United States Army. Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife Marcella Rose Hayward, his parents, brothers Harold, Elbert, Jack, and Harry Wine, as well as his sisters Wanda Bastian and Mary Againessess, daughter in law Jackie Wine, his beloved grandson Doug Wine II, grand-daughter Brandy Abrams and great grand-daughter Zoretta. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Marian, children, Ralph W. (Tammy Derhammer-McLoughlin) Wine, Jr., Marcia (Ron) Howard, Gregory “Kris” (Cecilia) Wine and William “Billy” Wine; step children, David (Tatiana) Wine; Douglas (Rhonda) Wine; Karen Nolen; Darrell (Valerie) Wine, Lawrence (Diane) Wine; Harold “Buddy”(Paula) Wine; Duane (Elena Jasper) Wine, Pamela (Troy) Zawacke; Nicole (Rick Stetten) Rice; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, along with nieces nephews, and other extended family. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude and thanks to Nicole Rice for her loving care these past few months. |
