It is with sadness that the family of Patricia Savage Everts of Portage, MI announce her passing on December 10, 2020 at the age of 77. She was predeceased and is now reunited with her loving husband of 40 years, Larry Everts (2003); parents Dean C (1976) & Roberta J Savage (2002); mother-in-law Kathryn Everts (1976) and sister-in-law Mary Jean Ladd (2000). She will be lovingly missed by her children Tracy Everts, Tiffany Everts Mazurek, and Michael Everts, along with his loving wife Kristin Everts; her beloved dog Buddy; grandchildren Charisse Tyson, Brittany Tyson and Marcus Tyson; sister Jennifer Parks; nieces and nephews Scott Parks, Jessica Rowekamp, Kevin Flanders, Denise Flanders NeSmith, and Doug Flanders. Pat was best friend to Barb and Ward Healy, whom she and Larry enjoyed raising children with, camping, and traveling. Born in Sioux Falls, SD, Pat worked for years as a Unit Clerk at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She then spent some time working in the insurance industry until her retirement in 2005. She and Larry were long-time participants with Marriage Encounter and the Portage Central Band Boosters. She was an active volunteer with local agencies, such as the Red Cross, Portage Community Outreach Center, and the Portage United Methodist Church. She enjoyed book club and the Red Hats Society. Pat was the sort of person who took time to learn about others; striking up conversations with strangers, she could learn someone’s entire life history in a short flight to Florida. She loved to travel and, in past years, spent as much time in Florida during the winter months as possible. There were many wonderful trips out of the country, but her favorite was a couple of years ago when she and her family fled the cold of Michigan and traveled to Jamaica, where they sipped Pina Coladas on the beach. |
