Age 89, after a courageous and lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s was called home to her Lord and Savior at Brookdale Assisted Living in Portage, MI, on Friday, January 22, 2021 with her children by her side. She was born in Sherwood, MI on June 8, 1931, the daughter of the late Floyd and Margaret (Clark) Hubbard and grew up on the family farm in Sherwood, MI. Mickey was a graduate of Union City High school class of 1949. Mickey worked for 30 years in the Floral Industry with her amazing green thumb caring for many plants and arrangements at VanderSalm’s Floral and Phil Gernaat and Son Greenhouses. She was a servant to her community generously volunteering her time at Northern Heights Church, the Northwood Little League, the Northwood Elementary, and the March of Dimes. Mickey was a voracious reader, enjoyed walking, baking, gardening, listening to country and rock music and cheering on her Detroit Tigers. On December 17, 1949, she was united in marriage to William J. Dentler who preceded her in passing on September 4, 2004. Mildred was also preceded in passing by a sister Virginia Kime and two sons Dean L. and Greg E. Dentler. She is survived by her loving children, Doug (Eleanor) Dentler, Bill (Debbie) Dentler, and Julie (Todd) Sewell, grandchildren, David, Dan, Nicole, Kendra Tamara, Andrew, Taylor, Mallory, Ashley and Josh.; several great-grandchildren, siblings, Thomas (June Hubbard), Nina (Ron) Truckey, Nedra Bunker; nieces, nephews, and friends. |
