Age 85, went home to Heaven on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at home with family at his side. He was born in Aransas Pass, TX, the son of the late Pedro and Guadalupe (Ashley) Olivares. Abelardo enlisted and served our country with honor in the U.S. Army; he was stationed at Ft. Custer and discharged in 1952. He would make southwest Michigan his home. On July 23, 1971, he married the love of his life Linda who survives. Abe had a strong work ethic and was always active. He retired from the Upjohn Company and then went to work for Kalamazoo Auto Auction in Schoolcraft. When not working, Abe loved to fish and spend time outdoors. He was an avid reader and enjoyed history. Above all Abe loved his family and his friends. He worked hard to provide for them and leaves them with many wonderful memories to cherish. He is also survived by eight children, Janie, Ruben, Jesse, Angie, Albert, Lisa, Devri, Micheal; six brothers; three sisters; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; beloved in-laws. He was also preceded in passing by a son, Chris and four siblings. The family would like to thank Reverence Hospice, especially Mary for her care and compassion shown to Abe during his final days. |
