Age 87. Marilyn passed away on June 23, 2017 at Sue’s Loving Care in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on August 17, 1929 in Trowbridge Township, Allegan County to Howard and Cordelia (Siebert) Baker. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. After working at Meijer’s, both at the Patterson Street and Gull Road stores, for more than 30 years, she went on to work at Gordon Food Service and Longjohn Floral. Marilyn was known to be a very social woman and enjoyed being active, even in post-retirement. She enjoyed bowling and golfing with her companions and loved spending time with her family. She was also known to read steamy romance novels. Many are grateful for the years she devoted as a member of the Roosevelt School Reunion Committee and her breakfast and lunch groups. Marilyn of course, enjoyed some of the better things in life, including beer, steak and lobster. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Baker. She will be missed by all that loved her including her children, David Young, Karen Young (Petto), Nancy (Tom) Menck and Terry Young; her legacy includes her grandchildren Michelle Young-Hedgspeth, Travis Petto, Jennifer Young, Katie Menck-VanKrimpen, Mike Menck and Tim Menck, as well as several great-grandchildren. |
