Age 78, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 28, 2018, his wife at his side. He was born in Beech Grove, IN, the son of the late Lyle and Vivian (Facker) Warner. He was also preceded in passing by a sister, Linda Clark. Bob graduated from Indianapolis Tech. High School and in 1956 entered the United States Marine Corps. He served as a jet mechanic and was honorably discharged in October 1962. In 1985 he married the love of his life Marcia Warner who survives. Bob was a good natured happy man who always had a smile on his face. Even when faced with difficult health issues, he remained upbeat and positive. His smile slowly began to dim as his health declined in the past year; he fought hard to stay here but it was not meant to be. He had a wonderful work ethic and could always be counted on. Bob was handy and throughout his life worked in many different fields. He served as an apprentice at Bookwater Printing in Indianapolis, was a logger in Washington State and a salesman in California. In 1975, he began work at Borgess Hospital as a security officer and in 2012 after 37 years of service retired from the Maintenance and Engineering Department. When not working he enjoyed spending time on his sailboat, bowling, canoeing and spending time with friends. Above all, Bob loved his family. He was especially proud of his step-children and grandchildren. Bob’s wonderful smile and kindness will be missed by all who loved him. He is also survived by two step-children, Gloria and Jay Olney; two grandchildren, Ian and Alex; a sister-in-law, Donna Meeth; many nieces, nephews and friends. |
