July 20, 1974 - March 4, 2024 A funeral service in witness to Eric’s life and faith will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Prairie Baptist Church, 11210 East PQ Ave., Scotts. Friends may call on the family on Friday evening, March 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church and prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Eric will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery, Comstock. Memorial contributions may be made to Prairie Baptist Church, in c/o the funeral home, or to the family at Go Fund Me – Eric Woods. |

Age 49, passed away on Monday evening, March 4, 2024. Eric was born in Kalamazoo on July 20, 1974, the son of Paul and Madline (Engelman) Woods. On June 23, 2001, he married Virginia “Ginny” Taylor who survives him. Eric was a football fan. Growing up, his favorite team was the Washington Redskins. He liked fishing. He and his friend Greg had gone skydiving. He enjoyed building chicken coops and raising chickens and gathering the eggs. He also enjoyed gardening. Eric was a family man and liked going to Tennessee to visit his Granny. He loved playing Fortnite with his grandson Blake. The grandchildren loved wrestling with him and hearing his spooky stories. There was nothing more important to him than spending time with his grandchildren. He was the best dad one could ask for and the best pop in the whole wide world. Besides his wife, Eric is survived by his children, Eric (Kendra) Woods of Scotts, Destiny (Joshua Pike) Woods of Three Rivers, Amanda (Daniel) Bailey of Climax, Kaylee (Bruce) Pike of Sherwood; Jamiee Woods of Climax; grandchildren, Lilly, Kartter, Nova, Kinzley, Blake, Annika, Ridge, Bryce, Clay, Memphis, Erik; mother, Madline “JoAnn” Woods; grandmother, Geneva Woods; special friend, Greg (Jennifer) Williams; brother-in-law, Joseph (Kelly) Proctor; nephew, Joseph Proctor; niece, Amelia Proctor; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Woods III; grandfather, Paul Woods II; grandfather, Jim “Pops” Engelman; mother and father in law, Lee and Sharon Proctor; special friend, Jamie Lambert. |
