Age 79, passed away at home on April 6, 2017 with family at her side. Jean was born in Albany, New York on October 28, 1937, the daughter of the late Frank and Iva Simons. They soon relocated to Kalamazoo where she would become the oldest of sixteen siblings. Jean had no children of her own but shared her love with her many nieces, nephews and her fur babies. Family and friends were a top priority in Jean’s life. She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her roommates and talking on the phone. She was incredibly passionate, supportive and proud of her family. She will forever be remembered for her spitfire personality and will be missed by all who loved her. She was also preceded in passing by her brothers, Donald “Geno” Simons, Richard Simons, Robert Simons and Sonny Simons; sisters, Dorothy Cole, Rita Reaume and Brenda (Lloyd) Keckler. Jean is survived by her brothers, Charles Simons, Paul Simons, Raymond (Linda) Simons, Ronald Simons, Terry Simons and Thomas Simons; a sister, Margaret Doorlag; brother-in-law, Donald Reaume; many nieces, nephews and special friends, Sandi Combs and Steve Daigler; as well as her fur babies, Sylvia, Rascal and Yogi. |
