Age 95, of Kalamazoo, went to be with her Savior and Lord on Friday morning, August 2, 2024. Alice was born in Kalamazoo on September 23, 1928, the daughter of Lewis Orville and Florence Bailey (Hodgman) Thomas. She was married to Robert Leroy Dideriksen who preceded her in death on July 2, 2006. She had met Robert when she worked at Schensul’s Cafeteria, where he was a bus boy and she was salad maker. Later, Robert became manager of that restaurant. She loved children and worked for a time at the Wee-Care Day Care Center of the Nazarene Church. Other than that, she was a homemaker and devoted her life to taking care of and loving her family. She was a fastidious housekeeper. She kept everything in apple-pie order. She will be missed by those that loved her and they are comforted by her faith in Christ. Alice is survived by her children, Judee Buckhout of Kalamazoo, Richard (Connie) Dideriksen of Kalamazoo and Sally (Paul) Laper of Hickory Corners; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and her seven siblings. |
