Steven D. Crotser

Age 68, passed away at home on September 28, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Aurora, IL, the son of the late Norman and Doris (Machner) Crotser. After making several moves around the country his family settled in Southwest Michigan. He received a degree from Western Michigan University and began a career in social work. He retired from Kalamazoo Community Mental Health after more than thirty-five years of service. Steven was excellent at his job and was a beloved case manager for adults with mental and physical challenges. When not working he enjoyed listening to music and was a loyal Bruce Springsteen fan. He also enjoyed watching the Tigers, catching his favorite tv series or settling into a good book. Above all Steven loved his family and friends and he leaves behind many memories to cherish. After being together as a couple since 1986, on February 10, 2010, he was united in marriage to Barbara Buchanan who survives. He is also survived by a sister, Sharon Crotser; nephew, Jeremiah Crotser and Niece, Jian Toy; also his beloved dog “Stella”.
