Irvin R. “Dick” Pierce, 91, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025.

Born on July 13, 1934, to Irvin and Veronica Pierce, Dick grew up in Highland Park, Michigan and later graduated from Albion College.

Dick enjoyed a successful career in mortgage and loan services with First Federal Savings of Detroit. He and his wife, Meg, raised their family in Grosse Pointe Farms, where he was an active member of the community. His service included volunteer work and proudly serving as Commissioner of Little League.

Dick was a lifelong learner, always eager to explore new ideas and experiences. His many interests included golf, tennis, music, reading, writing, and politics. He had a gift for storytelling and was known for his humor, quick wit, and entertaining magic tricks. His friends and family will remember how easily he could make others laugh and feel welcome.

Even as he grew older and faced physical challenges, Dick remained devoted to giving back. After spending many of his retirement years in The Villages, Florida, he volunteered at local nursing homes, often playing music on the keyboard to lift the spirits of residents. He gave generously of his time, talents, and resources throughout his life.

Above all, Dick cherished his family, his country, and his faith. He approached life with positivity and resilience, even during difficult times. His legacy of love, dedication, and service will be deeply treasured.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Meg; his children Pam (Mike) Richmond, Kim Reiter, and Todd (Barbara) Pierce; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
