Age 90, of Kalamazoo and Paw Paw, passed away at North Woods Village on September 7, 2025, with all four of her daughters at her side. Nancy was born on November 29, 1934, the daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth (Rittler) Gaston. She was a wonderful teacher for nearly 40 years, primarily of the 2nd grade in Paw Paw, and had achieved a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Students of hers would stop her to say hello and thank her for her impact on their lives wherever she went. She loved to read and instilled that love in all of her children. She was an avid gardener, and many of her flowers have been passed along to the gardens of friends, family and neighbors. She loved the outdoors, loved watching birds and would travel to watch migrating warblers, as well as assist with bird counts on her property. She loved classical music and pure voices, such as Julie Andrews and Luciano Pavarotti, as well as musicians such as Glenn Gould and Pablo Casals. She played the piano and clarinet and hummed along with beloved music right to the end. She was known and loved as ‘Momo’ to her family and to her carers in later years, a nickname bestowed by her beloved husband Jack. She is survived by four loving daughters, Holly (Paul) Peirson, Margot “Peggy” (Robert) Poznanski, Catherine Moore and Melissa (Scott) Moore; grandchildren Sean and Eric (Kassie) Peirson and Henry and Nina Poznanski; great grandchildren Embrie and Jack Peirson; her brothers Robert “Bob” and Richard “Dick” Gaston. She was preceded in passing by her husband of over 50 years, John “Jack” Moore and her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Windsor. | |
