Age 78 of Portage passed away Sunday morning, September 28, 2025. Jonnie was born in Vicksburg, MI on December 24, 1946, the son of John L. and Pauline C. (Stewart) Richards. Jonnie proudly served his nation in the United States Army, where he served as a Medevac pilot in Viet Nam. Jonnie worked for several years as a construction engineer, travelling throughout the country building resorts and casinos. In his spare-time he enjoyed fishing and reading. His professional background made him the perfect candidate to help family members with home projects. His family was the most important thing to him, and he loved spending time with them. Jonnie is survived by his children, Jonathan (Misty) Richards of Wilson, NC and Jayme (Andy Havey) Richards of Portage; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Trenton, and Cecelia; brother, Kim (Donna) Richards; niece, Chelsea; and nephew, Griffin; and countless friends including his former spouse, JoAnn DiLoreto. Jonnie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lisa Richards Kimber; and his grand-dog, Cooper.
