Janice Lynn Revalds, 77, of Sterling Heights and Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully on the evening of February 28, 2026. Born in Detroit on September 21, 1948, to George and Gladys Braxton, Janie dedicated her life to creating a warm and welcoming home for those she loved.

On November 12, 1994, she married Andris Revalds, with whom she shared a passion for travel and attending conferences until his passing in 2015. Janie was known for her uniquely decorated home, her “legendary” chocolate chip cookies, her fabulous gardening skills, and her cherished “Palm Saturday” family dinners. Her favorite place in the world was Caseville. To her, there was nothing better than a day at the beach followed by a perfect Caseville sunset. Her chaotic charm was her greatest gift. She was the kind of person who would forget where she hid a present after she just bought it, but she never forgot anyone’s favorite comfort food.

Her legacy lives on through her sons, Brian (Jennifer) Makohn and Scott (Elizabeth) Makohn; five grandchildren, Alexandra (Connor) Luke, Catherine (Amanda) Belleamour, Julianna, George, and Margot Makohn; and her great-granddaughter, Violet Luke. She is also survived by her siblings, George (Vivian) Braxton, Diane (David) Davis, and Melissa Braxton, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister, Nancy Helton.
