Kathleen Cox

On March 17, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, Kathleen became the first of two children born to Clayton and Joyce Cox (Miller). She passed peacefully on March 5, 2026, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She is survived by her brother, David (Mary), her son Brandon Bell (Alyssa), her daughter Erin Sternberg (Matt), her son Derek Bell (Jessica Tong), and seven grandchildren- Emma, Hannah, Evan, Miles, Sofia, Cyrus, and Rooney. She is predeceased by
her spouse, Jack Holtman, and her parents. Kathleen, or Kathy as she was known to most, moved to Kalamazoo in 1969 to attend college, and lived in the area for the rest of her life. She loved music, reading, cooking, the beach, a nice glass of wine, a fast car, watching a ball game, hearing a good story, and, of course, her many friends and family members. She was an active member of the Kalamazoo Valley Blues Association for many years and also loved to tour local
art exhibitions.
