Norman John Barney age 81 of Kalamazoo passed away Friday afternoon, March 27, 2026. Norm was born in Kalamazoo on February 1, 1945, the son of Herbert Theodore and Margaret Irene (Schaus) Barney. Norm proudly served his nation in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam war. On April 5, 1980 he married Alice Kathryn Shookman who preceded him in death in 2022. Norm is survived by his brother, Allison (Janis Emery) Barney of East Leroy; niece, Elizabeth Barney; nephew, Sean Barney; brother-in-law, David (Sharon) Shookman and David’s children; and many friends. | |
