Marjorie A. Sheppard age 99 of Kalamazoo passed away Thursday evening, June 3, 2026, just seventeen days short of her 100th birthday. Marjorie was born in Kalamazoo on June 20, 1926, the daughter of Harold A. and Prudie A. (Grimes) Cleveland. As a young girl, Marjorie served the war effort working in a factory in Indianapolis, IN. While a wife and mother, she worked for an insurance company for ten years. Then she became a realtor for many years. A committed Christian, Marjorie was a member of Westwood Church of God, now known as Grace Harbor. On October 7, 1946, she married Charles W. Sheppard Sr., who preceded her in death in 1998. Marjorie is survived by her children, Charles (MaryEllen) Sheppard, Janet (Harvey) Elgersma and Jill (Jeffrey) Perkins; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Cleveland; sisters, Pat Clark and Norma Bos. | |
