Melissa L. Starbuck

Melissa Lynn Starbuck, age 64, of Mattawan passed away at Centrica Rose Arbor Place on June 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Holland, MI, on January 24, 1962, the daughter of the late George and Grace (Bijsterveld) Antoon. Melissa was a kind, gentle and loving woman who had a heart of gold. Other than family, her greatest passion was helping cats. She loved caring for her many pet cats and never missed an opportunity to save the life of a stray, if possible. She worked hard as an administrative assistant for the Van Buren Community Mental Health office for several years where her dedication and attention to details will be missed. She was a quiet servant and would go above and beyond to help family and friends without ever asking for recognition. Above all Melissa loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren. She leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. On May 19, 2007, she married William A. Starbuck, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Kelsie Antoon; grandchildren, Trinity, Aurora and Isaiah; stepchildren, Amy (Bill) Peterson, William (Desiree) Starbuck, Joseph (Michelle) Starbuck, Patricia Sumner; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry (Diane), Ann (Peter), Marge (Tony); many extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by a special stepfather, Gerard.
