David W. Gilbert, age 78 of Portage, passed away Tuesday June 16, 2026, at home. David was born October 13, 1947, in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, the son of David and Lillian (Angel) Gilbert. He graduated from Flushing, NY High School and The Academy of Aeronautics, and retired as a construction manager for Barton Malow Co. in Southfield, MI. On September 20, 1965, in Bergenfield, NJ David was united in marriage to Jacqueline (Miloscia) Gilbert who survives. Also surviving are two children, David (Heather) Gilbert, Jr; Kristin (Cory) Ghiringhelli; four grandchildren, Dolan, Halle, Mia, Brady; sister Donna Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents. | |
