Phyllis A. Herring

Phyllis Arlene Herring, age 77, passed away at her home on June 18, 2026. She was born in Paw Paw, MI, on March 13, 1949, the daughter of the late Bynum and Ruby (Manning) Sherrill. She was one of ten children. Phyllis was kind, loving and selfless. She had a heart of gold and a smile that brightened the day of all those around her. She loved life and lived it to the fullest with an ever-present joy. On October 24, 1975, she married the love of her life Wayne Herring who preceded her in passing in 2015. Phyllis had many passions and hobbies. She was a Master Gardener and loved spending time outdoors. When younger she would camp, travel and ride motorcycles with Wayne, family and friends. She was a long-time member of the NRA and enjoyed sport shooting. Phyllis never missed a chance to go shopping or spend an afternoon with her sisters whom she loved. She also believed in a “better tomorrow” and was an avid recycler. Above all Phyllis loved her family and she was a proud and involved grandmother and great-grandmother. To know Phyllis was to love her and she leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. She is survived by four children, Karen Herring, Annette (Ken) Horton, David (Brenda) Boot, Kimberly (Brandon) Raupp; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Cory Lubinski) Horton, Riley (Brooklyn) Horton, Tyler (Erin) Horton, Kobey Horton, Brie, David and Skylar Boot, Emily Bayes, Michele Woodward; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Dortha Suboski, Sandy Cagle, Bonnie (Bruce) Rae; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in passing by many siblings.
