Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Texas Corners Bible Church where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon and time of fellowship. |

Age 77, passed away at Rose Arbor on February 23, 2018. He was born in Kalamazoo on November 9, 1940, the son of the late Gordon and Garnet (Bentley) Rice. Paul had a wonderful personality and was a joy to know. He was kind to others, faithful to his family and leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived. Paul was a hard worker who was employed at Saniwax Paper for more than 21 years, and then in security at the Upjohn Company for 15 years. He was also a self-taught mechanic, who started working on cars at the age of 14 and would continue to do so for friends and family for many years. When not working, Paul could be found on the water! He loved Michigan’s local and Great Lakes he also enjoyed spending time in Florida on the ocean. He enjoyed and collected all things “nautical” and was especially fond of lighthouses. He also enjoyed car racing and football. Paul loved the Lord and actively attended Texas Corners Bible Church. Above all Paul loved his family and did his best to make memories with them. On March 8, 1960, he married the love of his life Elaine (Allen) Rice who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Pamela Rice-Mercer and Juliene Rice; a grandson, Lance Mejeur; two sisters, Betty Hunt and Jill (Daryl) Hansen; nieces, nephews, and friends. He was also preceded in passing by a daughter, Coral Lynn Rice. |
