Age 59, passed away at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo on February 12, 2019. Robert is survived by his wife, Aisa S. Baker, whom he married on February 16, 2007; his daughter, Bobbie Sue Baker; his son, Jassan S. Baker; and his two grandchildren, Louie and Jackson. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael and Christopher Baker; in-laws, Ricardo and Salome Sinio; and niece, Lacy Baker. Robert was born on June 6, 1959, in Fort Wayne, IN the son of the late Kenneth H. and Sharon L. (Hartzog) Baker. He graduated from Union City High School and continued working at the foundry near his school. He did a many number of jobs, including working on the railroad and as an electrician. He eventually found a job at Econocorp Inc. as a service technician; traveling the world to places such as Mexico, France, and the Dominican Republic to fix his clients’ machines. His children remember him as a loving and hardworking father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Robert was accomplished at mechanical and electrical engineering and was always doing or thinking about a home improvement project he could complete. He was a kind hearted and loving individual who loved jokes and who was passionate about his career, his family, and his friends. Robert became a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Battle Creek and attended mass every Sunday that he could. |
