Age 86, passed away on Monday morning, February 3, 2020 following a lengthy illness. Warren was born on May 5, 1933 in Decatur, Michigan, the son of Adrian and Mildred Peterson. In 1953, he began proudly serving our country as a United States Marine (OOORAH) and was honorably discharged in 1956. He met Darlene while working together at Vermeulen’s Furniture Store. He and Darlene were married on February 24, 1963 and most recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. Warren and Darlene owned and operated Niewoonder/Peterson Home Improvements and he retired after decades of serving families in our communities. When he wasn’t busy working, he and the family enjoyed many vacations and especially enjoyed their time boating on Gull Lake. Darlene and Warren were each other’s best friend and cherished the “fringe benefits” that came along with having such a wonderful life together. He was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Emilee Peterson. Warren leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Darlene, their children, John Peterson of Kalamazoo, Keith (Lorie) Peterson of Kalamazoo, Danny Peterson of Florida, grandchildren, Christopher Peterson, Summer and Austin Peterson and Saydee Peterson, as well as his brothers, Marvin Peterson and Richard Peterson, and sister, Shirley Bergeon. |
