June 16, 1924 - February 12, 2021 The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, at St. Thomas More Catholic Student Parish, 421 Monroe St., Kalamazoo. The service will be live-streamed on the church’s Facebook page. Louise will be inurned with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Thomas More migrant ministry or the Kalamazoo Public Library in care of the funeral home or to the public library of your choice. |

Louise Busby McCarry, 96, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021. Louise was born in Boston, MA, on June 16, 1924, the daughter of Arthur and Mary Theresa (Martus) Busby. On November 11, 1948, she married Miles R. McCarry who preceded her in death in 2006. She graduated from of Simmons College in Boston with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1946. Louise was an accomplished baker, seamstress, and quilter, enjoyed reading, and reigned as the family Scrabble champ. She avidly followed the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame, where both her children graduated. Louise is survived by her children, Michael (Kate) McCarry of Arlington, VA and Ann (Robert) Kilkuskie of Kalamazoo; three grandsons, Zachary (Julie Walsh) Rubin-McCarry, Jesse Rubin-McCarry, Peter Kilkuskie; and step-granddaughter, Meredyth (Matteo Izzi) Gottschall. In addition to her husband, Louise was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marie. |
