John C. Stiegemeyer

A service in witness to John’s life and faith will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 2122 Bronson Blvd. Kalamazoo with Pastor Tim Seeber officiating. Social distancing will be observed and masks will be required. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Kalamazoo; or American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home.

Age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. John was born in Bay City, MI, on July 1, 1944, the son of Kenneth and Dorothy (Richman) Stiegemeyer. On September 11, 1965, he married Grace Sloggett who survives him. John proudly served his nation in the United States Air Force. He loved singing in the choir at Zion Lutheran Church and singing barbershop quartet music. John and Grace enjoyed being together as a family at their cottage in Arcadia. He was proud alumni of Handy High School in Bay City and of Western Michigan University. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Ted Stiegemeyer of Kalamazoo; daughter Kim Stiegemeyer of Kalamazoo; granddaughter, Alix Allen; siblings, Martha (Mike) Smith, Jim Stiegemeyer, David (Rebekah) Stiegemeyer, Tom (Kellie) Stiegemeyer; sisters-in-law, Janet Schnell and Susan (Bill) Hodder; brother-in-law, Tom (Ruth) Sloggett; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
