Age 81, passed away on Saturday, July 3 at Kairos Dwelling Home following a lengthy illness. Ron was born in New York City on March 21, 1940, the son of the late Peter and Eva (Madzey) Bleier. He attended and graduated from Monessen High, where he met the gal he would marry. After high school, Ron attended and graduated from Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania. On June 18, 1960, he married his girl, Judith Ann Todaro, most recently celebrating 61 years of marriage. Ron began his career in Food Service in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania shortly after college and eventually came to Kalamazoo College as Food Service Director. After several years there, Ron traveled the country selling food service to colleges and hospitals. Once retired he began a second career as a custom golf club builder, keeping friends, family and avid golfers like himself well armed for the game. Golfsmith honored him once with their Clubmaker of the Year Award. Ron was famous for his quick wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed The Moors, The Olde Mill and Ridgeview golf courses as much as possible. Ron was an accomplished cook and was famous for his fried chicken. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Audrey Vitovic. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Bleier, their four wonderful children, son, Christopher (Lisa Graham-Bleier), daughters, Jennifer Bleier and Lisa Marie Bleier, as well as son Mark R. Bleier He also leaves to cherish his memory his three beautiful grandchildren, Michael (Emma) Bleier, Katie Bleier and Anthony “Ajay” Bleier. |
