LAYMON, Laurie Ann (Lemon)

Age 58, passed away September 3, 2021. Laurie was born in Kalamazoo on April 9, 1963, the daughter of John H. and Sheila M. (Barrett) Lemon. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed gardening, knitting and dogs. Laurie’s family was always the most important part of her life. On June 20, 1998, she married Russell “Rusty” G. Laymon, who survives. Laurie is also survived by her children, Eric, Paul and John Westerhouse and Cierra (Rich) Kabat; grandchildren, Ashton James David Westerhouse and Madison Sunshine Tapia; mother, Sheila (Al) Sherman; grandmother, Helen Barrett; siblings, Joanie (Jerry) Patterson, Janet (Craig) Lemon, Mike (AnnMarie) Lemon and Marykay (Mark) Steinacker; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and of course, her beloved dog, Baxter. She was preceded in death by her father, John Lemon; maternal grandfather, Walter Barrett; paternal grandparents, Richard and Jean Lemon and parents in-law, Glen and Joan Laymon. A celebration of Laurie’s life will take place on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Grange Hall, 3234 North 3^rd St., Oshtemo, MI 49078, the service will begin at 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue Project or Kalamazoo Animal Rescue.
